The climate of the island is tropical. Characterized by two very defined periods: dry and wet season. Although in recent times these differences are no longer so marked.

  • From November to April: considered as dry. In this time the coolest and mildest temperatures are reported. Tropical rains are usually scarce. Hurricanes are very rare or nonexistent.
  • From May to October: considered wet or rainy. In this time the climate can be very hot and humid. From August to October: Hurricanes are more likely to approach the island. The precipitations are usually very abundant.
